Nov. 4 Weekend Stars

Here are some standout individual performances at both the high school and college level from over the weekend.

Brendan Burke and Matt Griffin, Quaboag: These two helped their team improve to 5-3 for the first time in a 14-8 comeback win over Southbridge. Griffin, a junior, had 10 tackles and an interception, and Burke, a freshman, had nine tackles to lead the team defensively.

Piero Canales, Daniel Oluwausyi and Taj White, KIPP Academy: In a 35-8 win over Charlestown, Canales completed 4-of-7 passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns to up his season totals to 422 yards and seven scores. Oluwausyi rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. He now has 812 yards and nine touchdowns. White caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown to up his total to 19 receptions for 255 yards and five receiving scores (eight total).

Noah Callery and Anthony Franco, Doherty: In his team's 50-40 loss to Shepherd Hill, Callery completed 20-of-27 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for 46 yards and a score. In the first half, Callery completed 15-of-16 passes for 243 yards and five touchdowns. Franco caught six of those passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns.

Nathaniel Cooper and Gabriel Dos Santos, Shepherd Hill: In a 50-40 win over Doherty, Cooper had 225 total yards (138 yards rushing TD, 87 receiving, 3 TD) on 25 touches. Dos Santos rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns, and also passed for two more.

AJ Dillon, Boston College: This junior running back from Lawrence Academy rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns on 35 carries to earn ACC Player of the Week honors.

Justyce Hathaway, St. John's (S): This sophomore defensive lineman made nine tackles, two sacks, and wreaked havoc all day in the Pioneers' 14-7 win over Wachusett.

John Fadule, Milton Academy: As a backup quarterback, Fadule volunteered to play linebacker and cut a 300-pound pulling BB&N offensive lineman to help slow down the run as Milton went on to win, 42-21.

Matt Gabra, Silver Lake: This senior running back/safety rushed for two touchdowns and had 94 all-purpose yards, plus an interception returned for a touchdown in Silver Lake's 35-14 win over Norwood.

Christian Georges, Stoughton: In the Black Knights' 41-22 win over Whitman-Hanson, Georges rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns. He also made 12 tackles and forced a fumble that the Black Knights recovered.

Kyle Fitzgerald, Canton: This running back/defensive back had 178 yards rushing, three touchdowns, an interception, four tackles, and three pass breakups in Canton's 34-14 win over Scituate.

Isaiah Laguerre, Brockton: In Brockton's 48-14 win over Newton North, this senior had nine carries for 88 yards and 85 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Clayton Morengi, Lynnfield: This quarterback completed 20-of-24 passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns in a 27-3 win over Newburyport.
